Taranthor

Taranthor – Mostly stone work with some metalwork, moderate land trade – populated mostly by gnomes and halflings

Known for their advanced engineering of siege weaponry, and breeding some of the most outlandish breeds of animals. The races of halflings and gnomes which founded the city survived centuries of slavery and genocide at the hands of the western Orc tribe of Ma’kar. Since their liberation at the hands of the Allied Nations in 225 A.T., and especially since the negotiations which culminated in the year 1225 A.T., establishing the sovereign Taranthorian Nation, the population of gnomes and halflings has exploded, and so has their grasp of technological advancement. In order to “even the playing field” so to speak, wondrous mechanical inventions have been integrated into the Taranthorian military which enable these small people to defend their borders without the help of “long-leggers.” Many other nations are scrambling to compete with the advancements the gnomes and halflings have made; no other military on the continent of Dothmar can boast of utilizing ships which can float on water, sail through the air, or even dive beneath the waves when needed. The sale and procurement of Taranthorian weaponry and vehicles is a subject of much contention among the leaders of the Allied Nations, however, and many expect legislature to be enforced limiting the use of such technology.
